10th European Congress of Pharmacology in Frankfurt/Main (Germany) from March 9-11, 2027
Dear Colleagues!
On behalf of the German Society for Pharmacology and the Federation of the European Pharmacological Societies represented by our President, Prof. Maria Sanz (EPHAR contacts in cc), I would like to most cordially invite you to attend the 10th European Congress of Pharmacology in Frankfurt/Main (Germany) from March 9-11, 2027! The meeting starts on March 9 in the morning and ends on March 11 in the afternoon. The congress venue (Campus Westend of Goethe-University) is just 35 minutes away from Frankfurt Airport with public transportation.
Attached is the first flyer for our congress. Please, distribute the flyer among the members of your pharmacological societies and spread the word. We are already putting together an interesting program that will cover all aspects from molecular to clinical pharmacology. As you can gather from the flyer, leading international pharmacological societies, most notably the BPS and ASPET (contacts for both societies in cc), will contribute to the meeting, making it a “Mini-IUPHAR meeting“. This EPHAR congress will get also a distinct clinical pharmacology flavor because the German Society for Clinical Pharmacology, represented by Prof. Ingolf Cascorbi (cc) and Prof. Renke Maas (cc) is co-hosting the conference. The BPS will add to this flavor as well.
By July, we will send you a more detailed flyer containing information on abstract submission deadlines (probably mid-end of September) and (early bird) registration fees. Please, start thinking about your contribution to EPHAR 2027 already now and mark your calendars.
We particularly encourage the participation of junior pharmacologists. We will award poster prizes and various scientific awards for junior and senior investigators.
It is my goal to make the meeting scientifically highly stimulating and comprehensive in terms of topics covered.
We will have a very good catering service to ensure that you have relaxing and refreshing breaks.
We will also host an EPHAR concert at the social evening with the highly popular and beautiful “Italian Symphony“ from Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, celebrating a United Europe.
If you have any suggestions for industry support and technical questions, please contact Mrs. Augustin from Conventus (cc.).
You are also invited to contact Prof. Achim Schmidtko (cc) from the Goethe-University in Frankfurt regarding the conference. He is our local scientific congress organizer.
Most importantly, I also ask you to make suggestions for scientific symposia according to the attached template and send it to my secretary Mrs. Jana Nissen (nissen.jana@mh-hannover.de) and me (seifert.roland@mh-hannover.de) by July 20, 2026.
The following points are important for symposium suggestions:
1. Each symposium has a duration of 90 minutes.
2. Speakers from at least 3 countries must be considered in each symposium.
3. At least one young scientist should be represented in each symposium.
4. Funding: The Scientific Committee of EPHAR 2027 has decided that each society hosting a symposium should try to cover at least some of the travel costs for the speakers through national society funds. However, being able to cover the costs for a symposium is NOT a mandatory prerequisite for a suggestion. At EPHAR 2027 we have a “Science First“ vision. We are in the process of securing ample funds for the meeting to realize as many symposia as possible.
5. The results of the symposia are intended to become the starting point for Themed Issues in the British Journal of Pharmacology or Special Collections in Molecular Pharmacology or the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics wherever appropriate. Integration into existing more specialized collections of the Naunyn-Schmiedeberg Arch Pharmacol(https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://link.springer.com/journal/210/collections?filter=Open__;!!D9dNQwwGXtA!U-i-WULpcRLclSQ3AA5YEK-WQyXkdvmjfm9v5LcDJeylfFDY4rpQSVbunQitcTsvdrj1R6x9gcAy6Uoi2_7V5AVeENVIEmiZeg$ ) is also possible. In this journal, the abstracts of the conference are also published open access and free of charge. Take these unique opportunities to make your latest research visible in leading pharmacological journals!
6. For the integration of the Symposia into (Special) Collections and Themed Issues, we need the details of the symposia. So, please be as precise and specific as possible. This is your best interest!
7. If a topic is very extensive, it can also be divided into two symposia.
8. If possible, the symposia chairs should come from different countries to emphasize the international character of the conference.
9. Final decisions on symposia will be made after the deadline by the end of July/beginning of August.
I hope that with this contact and information package, you will have a smooth and successful start into your visit of EPHAR 2027.
Please do not hesitate to contact me or my secretary on any questions that you may have.
I look forward to lively participation at EPHAR 2027!
Best regards,
Yours
